Baked Apples

Steps to make Baked Apples

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Mix together the brown sugar, vegan butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats and walnuts with a fork.

  3. Using a small sharp knife, carefully core out the apples from the top.

  4. Stuff the apples with the crumble mixture and place in a baking dish. Add ¾ of a cup of warm water to the baking dish to prevent the apples from drying out and burning. Bake for 20-30 minutes, basting halfway through. Once cooked, baste once more.

  5. Add the Angel Food Dairy-Free Cream Cheese and 1 tablespoon of the baked apple juice to a mixer or food processor. Then add the icing sugar a bit at a time, until smooth and incorporated.

  6. Serve by spreading a thick layer of the Angel Food Dairy-Free Cream Cheese mixture on a plate and place the baked apples on top.

  • 3 Tablespoons of softened vegan butter

  • ¼ cup of brown sugar

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • ¼ cup of rolled oats

  • 4 large apples

  • 20g of chopped walnuts 

  • ¼ of a cup of Angel Food Dairy-Free Cream Cheese

  • ¾ of a cup of icing sugar.

  • ¾ of a cup of warm water
