Vegan Cheese Rolls

A Kiwi South Island classic


  • 8 slices sandwich bread (cut the crusts off 2 opposite sides for easier rolling)

  • 1/2 cup of vegan mayo

  • 1 cup of grated Angel Food Cheddar

  • 1 small onion, finely diced

  • 3 Tbsp vegan margarine


  1. Pre-heat oven to about 180C.

  2. Mix together grated cheddar, vegan mayo, and diced onion.

  3. Spread about 1T of filling on each slice of bread and roll up. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.

  4. Spread margarine on tops of rolls, bake for about 7 minutes until crisp and golden. Serve hot.
