Vegan Cooking Classes

In my ‘Zest for Life’ vegan cooking demonstrations I aim to inspire people to cook more often and more diversely.

Menus are based on simple recipes featuring seasonal whole foods; my recipes are generally low in fat and always high in flavour.

You’ll sample and learn to cook about half a dozen recipes per class. You’ll meet some great people and have a fun afternoon. Not all of the recipes are gluten-free, but many are – and I am always happy to suggest variations which will work for gluten-free and other special diets.

My first three classes for 2010 work together as a complete introduction to a healthy plant-based diet. Whether you simply want to make your healthy diet even healthier and tastier, or whether you are dealing with high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension or weight management issues, we’re here to help.

I've got nutritionist Sjaan Evans on board for these classes - she's helped me design the menus and will be on hand to address any nutrition concerns you may have.

You'll build up a collection of delicious and user-friendly recipes, nutritional knowledge and confidence in the kitchen.

We'll also provide meal plans to help establish great eating habits - and I'll be available by phone and email to answer questions between classes. We really want to make this work for you!

Greening Your Diet

Starts Wednesday 17 February, 7 - 9pm

Did you know that changing your diet could have far greater benefits for the environment than changing the kind of car you drive? In this course you'll learn the basics of low-fat plant-based nutrition, along with recipes for easy and delicious dishes. Each session will include several savoury and one sweet dish. These healthy and economical dishes may even help you keep your New Year's healthy living resolutions!

The Green Gourmet

Starts Wednesday 5 May, 7 - 9pm

Eating a plant-based diet doesn't have to mean brown rice and lentils every night! Each week, we'll cook an appetising entree, a tempting main and a decadent dessert, all suitable for dinner parties and other celebrations. Please bring $40 to the tutor on the first night for all ingredients.
